Brief description of the position: 

The Position Holder (PH) manages the entire lifecycle of an IT product: PH acts as the primary contact between the Business Unit, DevOps Teams, Suppliers and other stakeholders to determine which features to include and to maintain inside IT Products and ensures adherence to budget and timeline targets over the whole lifecyle (i.e. from development through operation to retirement of the product)

 

Key Tasks:

  1. Provide IT solutions which support "Application lifecycle Management" process for VOLKSWAGEN R&D activities in the region; Manage IT products (e.g. CodeBeamer ).
  2. Investigating Processes and Requirements: The PH deep-dives into the BU's business processes and deeply understands BU processes to challenge and advise the BU on their IT product requirement scope.
  3. Forming product vision and roadmap: The PH looks ahead to external (market) and internal (political) forces and designs the product vision and roadmap and represents BU during the PI planning cycle.
  4. Managing and prioritizing the Product Backlog: The PH guides the user story creation and priotization, accepts stories and supports the architectural runway, contributes to backlog refinements.
  5. Leading alignments: PH ensures stories are well-formed and aligned with product strategy, using behavior-driven development (BDD)
  6. Managing escalations: The PH balances stakeholder perspectives, elaborates stories, fosters built-in quality and supports BU in priotizing backlog items according to their cost of delay
  7. Validation of Deliveries: The PH verifies and documents story acceptances from the BU and ensures compliance with the definition of "Done".
  8. Operating and retiring IT products: The PH services IT products during operation (configuration, incidents, errors, change requests, replacements, etc.) and supervises suppliers for delegated tasks
  9. Ensuring compliance: The PH represents the IT product in company processes (IT PEP, Purchasing, ART, etc.) and ensures compliance with company policies and guidelines (e.g. IT Security, Purch. guidl.)
  10. Interacting with BU: Using a customer-centric mindset along with design-thinking tools to determine which feature set can be realized within a IT product under budget and time constraints.

 

Qualification and skills required for the position:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related studies.
  • 3 years’ Experience in Software development and/or IT Services/Demand Management
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile Software Development Methodology
  • Experience in IT Software Development and IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles and design quality
  • Language: Chinese and English business fluent; German advantageous
