Key Tasks:

  • Be overall contact window in the team with regard to mechanical parts development fulfilling corresponding technical requirement. Technical Coordination between cross-company R&D including VW groups, external partners and sub-suppliers.
  • Design experiment and summarize process validation data, prepare the reports, and propose feasible improvement plans
  • Ensure and accompany the implementation of mechanical components in the sample production, trouble shooting if any problem occurs.
  • Project & Technical coordination between Production, Quality, Logistics, Purchasing to track the material supply, and further topics related to the mechanical components
  • Deep technical knowledge of battery technology, be able to correlate the impact of the problem on the production process, cell performance and vice versa.
  • Drawing review and optimization with R&D members in Germany and external partners
  • Be able to prepare development document, such as Drawings, DFMEA, 3D model
  • Regularly collect the mechanical parts master data, eg: MOQ, package information, lead time, part number, etc.
  • Support on optimize the package concept of mechanical parts.

Qualification and skills required for the position:

  • Bachelor degree in mechnical/ /Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability
  • 5+ years experience in battery industry or at automotive company battery department 
  • Experience in battery mechanical design
  • On-site experience with prismatic battery supplier is desired. 
  • Capable of drawings, 3D-model creation (CAD) and tolerance chain analysis.
  • Hands on experience of prismatic cell build, trouble-shooting on-site processing problems related with mechanics.
  • High flexibility and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with ability to work cross-functional
  • Independently lead/coordinate projects with ability to adjust project priorities
  • Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking and decision-making skills on a high level of sophistication. Documentation and reporting skills
