Brief introduction of this position:

The platform layout position is responsible for packaging and create layout of main components of the platform for EVs, PHEV, EREV etc., such as powertrain, chassis system, thermo mgmt. system, seats and body-in-white platform,  and find solution to solve the clashes issues and promote an efficient layout, organizing the technical meetings with the collaborating teams.

Key tasks:

1. verify the space of the power train in the engine room and under the floor such as BEV e-drive, High voltage battery including BMS, PHEV, EREV generator and e-drive, exhaust system etc.
2.  Packaging the body-in-white platform parts of the engine room and floor.
3. Define the overall dimensions of the vehicle architecture.
4. Layout the chassis components for steering system, brake system and axle system etc.
5. Packaging the seats to ensure the ergonomics and comfort of the driver and passengers
6. Design the routine of the pipe, wire, cable of the main components and verify by BTVs on the FB teams

8. Responsible for conducting competitor analysis for platform layout and build-up the database.
9. Collaborate with the production teams for the assembly feasibility.
10. Support and coordinate with ESK WOB team.

Qualification and skills:

• Bachelor in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in automotive industry R&D;
• Vehicle Architecture, geometrical integration, engine room layout, under floor layout etc.
• Well-founded technical knowledge of the requirement for packaging the e-drive powertrain, thermal mgmt. system, HV battery, domain controllers, chassis system etc. Deep understanding of automotive processes and procedures; CATIA DMU, GSD, Sketches Knowledge of vehicle packaging and ergonomics standard.
• Tools like Catia, CAD Tools, etc. VW system is a plus(AVON, KVS, Connect, etc.).
