Brief description of the position:

As a link between developing departments and technical conformity, this position must be familiar with both technical and regulatory issues. This position must be able to technically link a vehicle to its hardware components, software functions and to relevant regulations. This position evaluates whether technical and regulatory changes have a homologation impact and conclude possible solutions.

 

Key Tasks:

  • Track hardware changes for relevant vehicle projects and evaluate their respective homologation impact including final conclusion or solutions
  • Evaluate software changes of ECUs (electronic control unit) and conduct impact analysis on homologation
  • Keep track of both existing and new vehicle relevant regulations and communicate homologation impact analysis to relevant stakeholders
  • Create summary documents of technical and regulatory changes and organize discussion panels with experts to highlight their impact
  • Z-VEX (Regulation Expert for Homologation), as a consultant for homologation team for questions about regulations, is responsible for communicating new or changed regulation information with external situation, gets actively involved in regulation interpretation and related topics

 

Qualification and skills required for the position:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or similar
  • 5 years or above of work experience in the field of vehicle homologation, regulation or similar 
  • Knowledge and application of technical regulations in the automotive industry
  • Broad technical understanding of ECU-software and hardware relationships in vehicle technology desirable
  • Team working and good analytical skills
  • Good communication skills in Chinese and English (written and spoken), German language is desired
