Brief description of the OU / position / role:

The core task of the OE VCTC-YA is the edrive systems development and release (including HW & SW for Xin1 edrive ZSBs, incl. Hybrid/REEV and Onboard-/standalone-Chargers, DCDC-converter, and foreign market charging) for the whole Volkswagen group in China. Push the China edrive/charging systems strategy to realize the Electrification/Sustainability/Competitveness targets in Asia. Responsible of realization of the NEV Strategy (including multiple suppliers for CEA architecture for BEV/pHEV/REEV). Drive the edrive/charging systems development projects for the Chinese Market (In China for China) as well as for EU localizations (In China for the world). Responsible for ramp up  Knowhow and competence for the Serial Development with related release responsibility.

Tasks:

• Management, coordination and approval BMG & K-Release electric drive system sub-parts developed by OE, BMG for 3in1 and 6in1 edrive systems as well as for Stand-alone OCDC and charging translator boxes
• Management of strategy, roadmaps, local development, localization, integration, innovations, and project management of electric drive and charging systems for VW including product releases and the related supplier management
• Accountable for work results, Securing of  compliance with internal requirements to
  ensure compliance with legal obligations
• Management, planing, control and track goals (e.B. costs, deadlines, technology, quality), as well as achieving goal balance, and escalation, if necessary
• Disciplinary management/leadership of the employees of the OE, as well as creation of the framework conditions for the fulfillment of predetermined tasks
• Creation of framework conditions for continuous further development and improvement of processes and their binding anchoring in the regulatory world
• Steering JV cooperation / alignments with brands and VW Group of local electric drive an charging systems development and  electric drive as wells charging technology and release development tasks done by JVs.
• Influence and Implementation of company vision and strategy and set targets and objectives of the department accordingly
• Implement "Entwicklungsgemeinschaft" for new battery development projects including take over responsibility and liability
• Control of KPIs - economically efficient acting, cost center budget, project expenditures, development costs, HC targets, recruiting, SOPs, 

(Decision-making) authorities:

• Approval of technical releases in line with multi eye principle (BMG and K-release) of eDrive systems (including HW & SW for Xin1 edrive ZSBs, incl. Hybrid/REEV, stand-alone Onboard chargers)
• Authority of new personal in recruiting process for his department as well as department budget issues
• Decision on acceptance and priorization of projects/tasks based on capacity and urgency. The position holder decides about resources / budget / timelines / technical measures / tasks
• Decision about ratings regarding nomination of external companies
• Decision about Department strategy and direction of electrification strategy region China
• Determination and Decision of technical concepts in line with regional laws, and regulations as well as applicable VW policies to ensure tech. competitiveness and cost of the product (edrive systems)
