The position of "OBD Engineer" is responsible for the technical specification, design and coordination of validation systems, test catalogue, calibration test, test environments... to ensure all related systems fulfill strictly all OBD requirements from legal regulations. OBD Engineer will coordinate, align,... all mentioned task with the engineering teams, development stakeholders and CEA Team.
Key Tasks:
1.Design and development test catalog: Create and maintain detailed test cataloges, test cases and process for the general OBD requirements under the existing and valid legal regulations requirements
2.Support and assist specific and additional test scenarios required to validate the OBD implementation solution in affected subsystems, components and SW/functions with responsible engineering teams and lead developer stakeholders
3.Execution of diagnostic test under exhaustive test scenarios in test bench and vehicle including the failure simulation to verify the robustness and execution of the OBD requirements.
4.Validation and Verification: Ensure that all systems comply with OBD emission and diagnostic standards, identifying and documenting any deviations.
5.Analysis and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems related to OBD2 communication, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), emissions monitors and freeze frame data.
6.Documentation Management: Maintain rigorous documentation of test results, validation reports and action plans for continuous improvement.
7.Collaboration with all related stakeholder in VCTC, CARIAD, VCIC, JVs and VW-Group: Close working enviromment and collaboration with engineering and development teams of HW, SW, diagnostics, Architecture, calibration and homologation to guarantee a succesfull implementation and validation all OBD requirements from the legal regulations.
8.Continuously improvement: Identify improvement opportunities in the validation and test process adopting new methodologies and tools.
9.Representation of VCTC-AA in working groups, steering JVs, groups and group committees.
10.Maintaining and expanding competitiveness and quality by increasing the degree of innovation, identifying trends and continuously developing in OBD solution including regularly synchronization with VW-Group counterparts
Qualification and skills:
1.University Studies: Computer Science, Software engineering, E/E, Mechanical Engineering, Network Engineering (e.g. Bachelor or Dipl.-Ing. degree)
2.Long-standing experiences (> 5y) in Automotive electronic, networking & architecture development, HW & SW development including automotive diagnostics knowledge, testing and validation
3.Experience (>5y) of technical development in automotive industry with basic know-how of SW & HW development, Diagnostic, On Board Protocol
Knowledge and experience of:
(>5y) Software/Hardware development process and quality management
>5y) networking & architecture development ideally with Automotive diagnostics knowledge
(>5y) E/E component development
(>3y) safety relevant automotive software(ASIL D,C) development
