The position of "OBD VEX" is responsible for the interpretation and technical application based on the legal regulation of on Board Diagnostics (OBD) in China Region. The main responsibility is to support and align not only the proper technical interpretation of legal regulations together with Technical conformity but to ensure that the technical specification for the affected parts, SW, Subsystem
Key Tasks:
1.Interpretation and analysis of all relevant legal regulation related to OBD in China Region (C6b, C7)
2.Technical translation of the legal requirements: Translation of related legal regulation and requirements in technical requirements providing a clear and accurate understanding to the technical development partners involved in the targeted projects based on CEA Architecture and their engineering teams for SW/HW development and OBD Calibration.
3.Technical assessment as main point of contact for all related questions related to the technical conformity to OBD related legal requirements, providing specific assessment from legal and technical perspective supporting the technical implementation solution of all OBD related requirements in all stages of the project, but mainly focussed in the earliest and latest stages of the project.
4.Ensure the VCTC-AAO on-time & in-quality alignment from all OBD requirements and define technical solution with CEA development stakeholders from Architecture topology point of view from End-to-End system
5.Ensure the secure product development quality by providing time-efficient development processes, methodology & templates, providing development of strategies, methods, tools and process in order to ensure the compliance of the legal requirements from their interpretation, technical definition, development, integration, validation and release.
6.Conformity verification and validation: Participation in the definition of test plans and validations criteria to ensure that the technical implementation fulfill all the legal requirements and company expectations. Review all the test results with the development owner and different stakeholder from OBD development structure to ensure a proper verification of the results.
7.Preparation all the documentation for the homologation with all development owner of the affected parts, SW, functions and subsystems required by the authorities for the different homologation process to the validation entities from the Authorities.
8.Development and ensure the internal formation to the engineering teams and development areas about the OBD legal requirements from existing, modified and new legal requirements and the certification process of vehicles.
9.Establish and keep contact with the Authorities and regulation entities, participate in discussions, forums,...with the authorities, industrial associations and technical consortium in order to stay up to date of future developments in the different regulations and represent the interest of the company
10.Maintaining and expanding competitiveness and quality by increasing the degree of innovation, identifying trends and continuously developing in OBD solution including regularly synchronization with VW-Group counterparts
Qualification and skills:
1.University Studies: Computer Science, Software engineering, E/E, Mechanical Engineering, Network Engineering (e.g. Bachelor or Dipl.-Ing. degree)
2.Long-standing experiences (> 12y) in Automotive electronic, networking & architecture development, HW & SW development including automotive diagnostics knowledge
3.Experience (>5y) of technical development in automotive industry with basic know-how of SW & HW development, Diagnostic, On Board Protocol
Knowledge and experience of:
(>5y) Software/Hardware development process and quality management
>5y) networking & architecture development ideally with Automotive diagnostics knowledge
(>5y) E/E component development
(>3y) safety relevant automotive software(ASIL D,C) development
