Brief description of the position:

This position measures different physical variables, such as Force, Displacement, Acceleration, Deformation, etc., Support of Release of other areas through instrumentation and measure of different vehicle functional parameters.  Support during test drives in different environments, Collection and Analysis of large amount of data in order to issue recommendations for product or test improvements.

Key Tasks:

• To ensure correct execution of technical measurements according to VW Test Procedures (EP, PV, TL, etc.)
• To instrument and to install sensors, measuring devices or equipments in order to perform the required technical measurements.
• To analyze and to report the measuring results in a standard format, including findings, results, recommendations, and conclusions.
• To agree in some cases with VWAG measuring test programs for specific measurements.
• To plan and to execute calibration and maintenance programs for all sensors and equipments under his/her responsibility.
• To participate in meetings with customers of areas of R&D to define measurement test programs, timings, methods, proposals, expected results, etc.
• To plan future needs of equipments, devices, and sensors in the investment program.
• To support testing programs of other R&D areas during drives, locally or in other locations or countries.
• To develop external suppliers who can perform technical measurements or instrument, if external capacity is needed.
• To develop SW and HW solutions for local mesurement testing and to homologate technical measurements methods with VWAG.

Qualification and skills:

• Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or similar.
• Broad knowledge and well-founded technical understanding in relevant topics in theory and practice.
• Team working and good analytical skills.
• Good technical communication skills in English (written and spoken), German language is desired
