This position assumes full responsibility for intake & exhaust system & components development within VCTC as the FOP (father of parts) and reports to the YAF (Thermal management & cooling system). 

Responsible for the design and release of intake and exhaust system & components in accordance with technical requirements and VW process.

Key Tasks:

• Responsible for intake and exhaust system components design and release, including technical requirements (LAH), 3D &CAD data, Design Validation& Plan,  and project milestones release (P/B/BMG/K) etc.
• Responsible for exhaust system components technical requirement,  includes geometry, material, function, performance etc
• Responsible for all development relevant tasks, e.g. material, component performance, EMC, NVH etc.
• Define and track the testing plan; evaluation of test results
• Prepare the decision-making documents for the management to issue release for localized produced modules and parts
• Technical release responsibility as per project milestones, includes P/B/BMG/K as per VW product development process and checklist
• Instruct JVs to work out countermeasures to meet the project goals
• Component math data management and release,  GD&T study, material requirement, component DMU check,   component DFEMA study, bill of material(BOM) creation and maintenance
• - Responsible for  supplier nomination on technical evaluation scope, includes supplier R&D capability, resources,  technical solution,  timing plan, experience 
• - Supplier management during  component development process, includes design, samples preparation, maturity evaluation, DVP,  and release etc. 
• - Identify capable local suppliers for responsible parts or systems according to VW group technical req. & specification
• - Change management (Aeko, AeA, AWE) , generate change requests and track status as per project timing 
• - Evaluate and implement changes triggered by design, production, quality, supplier etc. 
• - Benchmarking analysis for exhaust and intake system components, in regards of material, functionality, standards, weight, vehicle performance, material cost analysis 
• - Issue solving:  testing issues, production problems, error diagnose , after-sales complaints, engineering failure mode identification etc.
• - Good Network with work partners in JVs, VCIC internal as well as HQ EA WOB
• Steer development of Exhaust Systems for Powertrain under consideration of technique, development time, cost and quality

Qualification and skills required for the position:

1. Bachelor’s degree or above, major in mechatronics, power and energy engineering, mechanical engineering , automotive engineering or other related fields.
2. 5 years+ work experience in exhaust system management development field;
3. Experience in OEMs, intake exhaust system tier-1 supplier
4. Experience with project management and supplier management
5. Deep understanding of automotive development processes and procedures; 
6. Familiar with Thermal  system logic and components (e.g. integrated modules, HVAC, electric components);
7. Knowledge on tools like CATIA, CANoe, Amesim, GT-Suite etc. ;
8. Experience on thermal system calibration, testing is a plus;
9.  Fluent English communication skills and German language is preferred;
10. Good communication skills and team spirit;
11. Familiar with agile working methods and Jira-System is a plus.
