Brief description of the position/ Range of responsibility:

  • The team of project buyers is coordinating the activities between the multifunctional teams (R&D, Quality assurance, Finance, Logistics) called “Fachteam” and the buyers in the various commodities of Purchasing. In the launch phase of a new car project the project buyers are actively driving information collection in the Fachteams, requested for purchasing activities, to ensure on time supplier nomination for new projects, perform project-purchasing evaluations.

 

Key Tasks:

 

  • Responsible for collection all technical information / technical requirements in the multifunctional teams, which are requested to do purchasing activities, to ensure on time supplier nomination for new projects, perform project-purchasing evaluations.
  • Responsible for central coordination for product cost workshops related activities between buyers in and multifunctional teams, align technical and economic feasibility, represents purchasing in cost workshop.
  • Responsible for central coordination for bottom-up material cost calculation between buyers and Fachteams.
  • Responsible for tracking and pushing the activities in Fachteam forward in regards of project timing, to ensure on time supplier nomination, implementation of big technical changes.
  • Represent purchasing in several meetings or committees and escalate timing issue and find solution within Fachteam in critical situations.
  • This position should track and push the activities in Fachteam forward in regards of project timing.
  • This project buyer will – for aligned B parts and C parts (non-heavy-items) track quality status (e.g. Note 1) and track the call-off-readiness in the pre-series / launch phase of a new car project.

 

Qualification and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor degree or above in Business, Economics, Purchasing, Material, Engineering or Automotive Industry Related Areas
  • Deep knowledge of purchasing within vehicle industry (Automotive or others/similar). Working experience in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is a plus.
  • Ability to handle the complexity of interfaces.
  • Proficient networking skills.
  • Practical problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and relationship skills in creating and fostering working relationships within Purchasing, internal business units and suppliers.
  • Fluent Spoken and written in English. Fluent Spoken and written in German is a plus.
