Brief description of the position:

The position represents Quality in technical project meetings regarding vehicle interior & exterior. It ensures that Volkswagen quality requirements are considered during the development of new vehicles. The position follows the timeline of the project and coordinates with the areas of Quality the respective project activities. The position evaluates technical changes with the support of the involved functional areas and delivers the Quality statement. The position identifies critical topics, evaluates risks develops appropriate measures with the support of technical areas and starts escalation process in the project.

Key Tasks:

1. Represent the Quality Department in the respective fachteam/main system and Q-team project meetings
2. Identify and ensure Q-best practices and experience from reference projects
3. Control the Q-specific fachteam / main system targets including initiation of countermeasures and escalation through the Q-Project Leader (QPL) and project team
4. Definition of Q-requirements based on the technical product description, the Q requirement catalog and lessons learned; in agreement with the Quality functional areas
5. Ensure the implementation of all relevant Q-requirements for the respective fachteam / main system, raise needed decisions in product committees in case of deviations
6. Technical review of project documents (e.g. modules, TKB/TPB, AEKOs etc.) to evaluate quality impacts (field complaints, Q-requirement, Q-targets)
7. Create and communicate field complaint forecast for the fachteam, considering the input of Q functional areas to as a valid base for warranty costs & whole project calculation
8. Raise and prepare needed decisions in case of Q-requirement and timeline deviations with involvement of QPL and project team
9. Propose technical product changes by evaluating risks and potential chances to avoid quality manufacturing issues, field problems, costumer satisfaction or usage safety
10. Report the respective fachteam / main system status to the Q-Project Lead and evaluate the Quality maturity level

Qualification and skills required for the position:

• Education:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering or other higher technical education:
Preferably in Mechatronic, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science
(Advanced Professional Training)

• Knowledge, skills and others:

- Knowledge of Processes of the Automobile Industry 
- Knowledge of Quality Methods: VDA, FMEA, QPN, 8D, ...
- Knowledge of the IT-Systems of the Company
- Knowledge of inspection techniques and methods (like DOE, 6 Sigma, CEP, etc.)
- Strong understanding of quality systems and processes
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electric and electronic parts
- Strong knowledge of ADAS system
