Brief description of this position:
The sub-system owner E-Drive system is a crucial role in the Powertrain System architecture. The position holder is responsible for the design, development, optimization, documentation and management of the system requirements for the sub-system. The role further combines the responsibility for alignment with all relevant stakeholders as well as the release and change process management.
Key Tasks:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers and stakeholders to identify and define the requirements and validation criteria for the E-Drive system, including performance and efficiency, ensuring comprehensive coverage of system capabilities.
- Develop clear, concise, and unambiguous system requirement specifications for the sub-system (performance, efficiency, reliability, ..), adhering to industry standards such as VW, GB or ISO.
- Establish and maintain a traceability matrix linking high-level system requirements to detailed hardware and software specifications, ensuring end-to-end alignment and facilitating verification and validation.
- Facilitate regular reviews of the performance requirements, V&V criteria and status with stakeholders, incorporating feedback, and securing approval for implementation.
- Manage changes of the requirements and V&V-criteria throughout the development life-cycle, assessing impacts on schedule, cost, and system design, and obtaining necessary approvals for modifications.
- Coordinate and support the integration of powertrain hardware development together with the relevant stakeholders, function owners, component developers and the testing team.
- Collaborate with the calibration team and test team, supporting the validation and verification process to confirm system compliance and performance.
- Select and manage the use of requirements management tools to streamline the capture, tracking, and reporting of hardware and software requirements.
- General project management tasks regarding given role descriptions, procurement of the information and literature required for the field of work, gathering of work specific requirements (market, costs, strategy, regulatory, technical, customer, quality … ) to support the ongoing work and to stimulate further developments, as well as patent protection of the work results.
- Focus on the new technology in E-Drive system technology developments and market trends.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Masters’s degree or above, majored in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering other related fields.
- More than 3 years working experience in the automotive industry and comparable position; at least 3 years of experiences in the field of powertrain development/integration for NEV concepts.
- Proven experience as a Design or Integration Engineer for the Electrical Powertrain with focus on systems engineering or similar role.
- Familiar with ASPICE development methodologies.
- Familiar with Electrical Powertrain System architecture and components.
- Familiar with dependencies and effect chains of (PH-/ER-)EV powertrain components in system environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new methods and find creative solutions for complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (spoken and written).
