Brief description of the position/Range of responsibility：

• Technical release recommendation of the whole vehicle through specific vehicle testing under extreme environmental conditions according to VW standard test procedures.
• Test results and failures must be analyzed and solved in coordination with other areas within R&D.
• Countermeasures must be followed up.

Key tasks:

• To get the agreement in some cases with VWAG test programs for specific modules
• To plan the test program in a standard format, to control timing, to document deviations, and to report to project coordinators. To develop the testing validation plan for new or modified vehicle characteristics. To participate in meetings with areas of R&D to define test programs, timings, amount of samples, to give input for product improvement, etc.
• To verify and to reproduce failures and findings reported by the stations in the car, in order to fully understand the nature of the findings
• To organize drives locally or to participate in winter or summer tests, if necessary to evaluate the modules under his/her responsibility
• To ensure that the test instructions and test sequences are known and understood by the responsible of performing the tests
• To fully understand the modules under his/her responsibility, to know the expected performance and functional and technical properties. These modules can be hardware (chassis, power train, electric, electronic or body components or systems) or software (infotainment, ADAS, mechatronics, on line services, connectivity, HMI, high voltage, comfort electronics).
• To analyze and to report the test results in a standard format, including technical release, findings, results, and conclusions
• To participate in meetings with areas of R&D to define test programs, timings, amount of samples, to give input for product improvement, etc.
• To consider in the testing programs all capabilities of EG: test benches, structural durability tests, climatic chambers, measuring techniques, etc., and not only vehicle durability testing, so synergies and cost reductions can be found
• To understand and to analyze signals and traces from data loggers or instrumentation in order to get the failures solved

Qualification and skills:

• Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or similar.
• 3-5 years work experience in vehicle functional management.
• Team working and good analytical skills
• Good technical communication skills in English (written and spoken), German language is desired
