Main goals and objectives:

The core mission of this position is to participate in developing, testing and iterating the next generation of the ADAS features specifically designed for the Chinese market. The position will design, execute, technically observe and monitor user studies with Chinese customers in customized Chinese traffic scenarios, in a local simulator.

Based on global and local HMI and safety concepts, the position will be involved in designing HMI study-concepts, developing technical concepts and specifications, evaluating and interpreting results in order to offer a solution most suitable for the Chinese market and customer. These functions will be designed for premium brand products in the Chinese market.

The contribution of this position will be vital to deliver from concept through an eventual production launch. The exchange with relevant stakeholders and partners in both China region and headquarters will be an essential part of this position’s work.

 

Your Responsibilities:

As an HMI Engineer you are responsible for the described scope and tasks within the ADAS/ADAP/ICV Development department for next generation vehicle platform.

• Design HMI user studies for the verification of ADAS features in specific traffic scenarios

• Implement relevant traffic scenario simulations for user studies

• Conduct and monitor HMI user studies with selected Chinese customers

• Observe and log user study results

• Perform statistic and analyze the user study results

Draw conclusion based on analytical & statistical results to guide further functional concept designs

• Design HMI concept based on user study results, as well as collected requirements from related stakeholders

• Align with relevant stakeholders on HMI ADAS functional concept to be developed

• Communicate the designed concept to relevant stakeholders and convert the concept into HMI functional requirements

• Present the concept designs to management

• Monitor and steer the implementation of HMI requirements to the ADAS system

• Verify the implemented ADAS functions on delivered hardware & software systems

 

Our Requirements:

 

Necessary education:

Minimum bachelor’s, and Master’s degree highly recommended, in the fields of user experience design, human-computer interaction (HCI), industrial design, psychology or other cognitive science, industrial engineering, automotive engineering or a related discipline

 

Personal skills:

Good knowledge of at least one:

• Professional knowledge in user-centric UXUI development methodology

• HAD sensor set (ultrasonic, radar, laser), HAD software components, electronic modules (ECUs), defining vehicle communication architectures

• Experience in participating a complete user study cycle, as well as in converting the study results to innovative concept designs are highly preferred

• Knowledge of automotive design processes (PEP, Requirements Management process, etc.) and release stages preferred

• Strong analytical & statistical abilities

Strong presentation and communication skills

• Structured working style, advanced time management and strong analytical skills

• Strong abilities in independent, self-organized work, and cross-functional/-entity collaboration

• Good knowledge of automotive design processes (PEP, Requirements Management process, etc.) and release stages

• Basic knowledge of sensor set (ultrasonic, camera, radar, LiDAR), electronic modules (ECUs), vehicle communication architectures, software components for automated driving

• Good knowledge of vehicle systems architecture

• Basic experience in participating a complete user study cycle

 

Working experience:

+3 years (Bachelor) / +2 (Master) years of relevant UI/UX work experience at an automotive OEM, related Tier 1 supplier, mobile device OEM or equivalent, preferable in the field of driving assistant systems

• +2 years of experience in conducting user studies, comparing driver behaviors for automotive features development is preferred

• Proven experience in system requirements engineering for HAD systems

• Project management: Experience in steering and technical negotiation

• Experience in development of Driver Assistance / Automated Driving Functions (e.g. EE architecture topologies, interfaces, failure analysis etc.)

• Experience in developing & simulating virtual driving scenarios is preferred

• Knowledge of vehicle Electric/Electronics and ECU is a plus

• Project management: Experience in steering and technical negotiation is a plus

 

Remarks (Language, IT Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

Fluent in English, oral and written

• Fluent in Chinese

• German language skill is a plus

• Driver’s License is a plus
