We are expanding our team for “Automated Driving/Intelligent Connected Vehicles” development in Beijing and start to establish an additional hub in Shanghai. In collaboration with a Chinese technology company we enhance the customer experience and offer tomorrows products to Chinese customers as soon as possible. Main goals and objectives:
The core mission of this position is to define and specify technical requirements for Driving and Parking functions in the field of Automated Driving/Parking (ADAS / ADAP). These systems will be designed for Volkswagen Group brand products in the Chinese market.
You will monitor and ensure the implementation of specified requirements on systems level. You will be involved in designing, steering and finally releasing those systems to the customer. Your contribution will be vital to deliver a robust system and performant function to the customer. The exchange with relevant stakeholders in both China region and headquarters will be an essential part of this position’s work.
Your Responsibilities include:
The position is responsible for the described scope and tasks within the ADAS/ADAP/ICV Development department of Volkswagen Group China:
- Responsible for system, function and component quality and project quality
- Derive technical requirements of Automated Driving/Parking systems designed for the Chinese market
- Define technical requirements for subsystem solutions and create technical architectures, functionality and integration for future automotive systems/platforms
- Conduct system design reviews with relevant components and sub-components
- Track development progress of functionalities
- Ensure optimized test quality
- Product delivery with good quality for each start of production by monitoring performance of team
- Ensure milestones of “full function”, bug-0 and approvals
- Identify priority and critical issues during the project process and give guidance to team members
- Responsible for integration in vehicles, application, and customer release (K-Release Recommendation) for the Volkswagen Group brands in the Chinese Market
- Stakeholder communication

- Cascade targets and performance requirements to supplier/s and partner/s, and work to integrate them in vehicle systems
- Escalation and decision on adequate actions with relevant parties
- Responsible to deliver comprehensive status reports to the C|TF-61 head
- Communication with other leaders, suppliers, and interface partners
Our Requirements:
Necessary education:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering. Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
Personal skills:
- Experience in development of Driver Assistance / Automated Driving Functions on technical functions, systems, or component level
- Experience in requirements engineering and process
- Knowledge of vehicle Electric/Electronics and ECU development/validation
- Project management: Experience in steering and technical negotiation
- Structured working style, advanced time management and strong analytical skills
- Strong abilities in independent, self-organized work, and cross-functional/-entity collaboration

Working experience (in years):
