Infotainment Development

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Plan and track the infotainment function development timeline and progress and perform continuous status reporting.
• Lead the technical development of the infotainment and ensure its final approval.
• Perform evaluation of technical feasibility of defined customer-oriented product requirements in product request.                                                                       
• Define technical product requirements (TPB) in compliance with China-specific legal regulations and customer needs.
• Review product requirements if taken over from VW EE Wolfsburg at baseline development.                              
• Align with all involved parties to ensure the infotainment  function is delivered according to the specification and VW standards.
• Provide support in infotainment  test specification;
• Conduct functional infotainment  testing to ensure the functional readiness.
• Deliver release and create system release notes.
• Support Technical Project Lead in planning of resources and budget for development activities.
• Closely align with all related stakeholders of VW EE in Wolfsburg and JVs
• Define safety concept based on the risk analysis and add the safety requirements into the infotainment  technical specification
• Inform technical project lead about potential risks for infotainment  development and/ or timeline.
• Define infotainment  functions according to the evaluated requirements.
• Create the technical and functional specification based on market-specific product requests and existing global infotainment technical specification to ensure technical feasibility and compatibility with the market.
• Perform basic programming of manipulators and gateways.
• Lead and conduct activities regarding change request process, e.g. CR definition.

Qualification and skills

• 1. Education background
• Master’s degree in automotive/ electrical engineering, communications, computing or similar
  2. Working experiences
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the (automotive) infotainment or similar
• Deep knowledge and well-founded technical understanding of vehicle infotainment in theory and practice
• Knowledge of/ experience in software/ hardware development for embedded systems
• Working experience in infotainment development within Volkswagen Group preferred
• Experience in project management (time management/ planning/ monitoring)
• Experience in data structures and algorithms is preferred
• Know-how of VW development tools preferred

• Excellent language skills in English (written and oral) mandatory
