Brief description of the position:

This position is responsible for conducting analysis on technology trends and respective roadmaps within China automotive supplier and tech industry regarding focus areas, e.g. Digital Cockpit, HMI, AD/ADAS and Powertrain/Battery. 
The results are to be reported to technical committees and published on VCIC/VCTC internal data platforms.

Key Tasks:

• Responsible for conducting technology trend analysis within China automotive supplier and tech industry. The position holder has a specific focus area.
• The scope of investigation shall be aligned with relevant business departments both within VCTC as well as VCIC.
• Obtain via internal sources and external vendors the required raw data as basis for the trend analysis.
• Define and align a year based timeline to conduct the trend analysis.
• Report the findings in relevant internal technical committees and published on VCIC/VCTC internal data platforms.
• Develop methodologies and obtain adequate reliable data sources to conduct trend analysis.
• Evaluate quality of databases  as offered by external vendors in bidding process.
• Continuous learning of the position holder responsible investigation scope by desk investigation and participating in industry fairs and forums.

Qualification and skills required for the position:

• Master (of Science) in e.g. Automotive/ (Electro-)Mechanical engineering, engineering
• 3-5 years job experience, preferably in a technology-driven or R&D environment (e.g. OEM-start-up, non-automotive hi-tech company)
• - High interest in latest technological development (automotive, non-automotive)
  - Specialist knowledge on certain technology fields a plus.
  - Highly proactive working attitude and strong self-motivation.
  - Excellent communication language skills in English (written and verbal) mandatory
  - German language skills as a plus.
  - Chinese language as mother tongue.
