Brief description of the position:

The core task of this position is to design vehicle thermal management system to fulfill vehicle performance requirement (ICE,BEV, HEV, PHEV, EREV...), including analyzing vehicle requirement, benchmark, system strategy as well as pre-research about new system solution. It is required to make standard and process of system design and performance management.

 

Key tasks:

  • Design platform system solution and local attribute target.
  • Make benchmark and regulation analysis, design system strategy.
  • Conduct 1D/3D simulation, define components parameter, output the necessary reports for system and components development.
  • Support and achieve the energy consumption target of the thermal management system decomposed from the vehicle E-range.
  • Responsible for the overall planning of system development, in addition to the main responsibility of performance development and testing work, it is necessary to align with functional development/software development/component development.
  • Output thermal management work mode and basic control objectives, supporting functional and software development.
  • Proactively drive set-up of new topics & processes as well as improvement of current processes by identifying gaps or loops within your working field.
  • Proactively initiate training demands for this position as well as support & mentoring for unexperienced team members.
  • Report achievements and deviations. Prepare status reports & decision paper for your supervisor and upper management.
  • Report on critical issues / job stoppers to supervisors and develop approaches to solve issues regarding your working field.
  • Performing individual task-related duties in accordance with the knowledge and experience of the position holder.
  • Advising other people holding positions at VCIC, its subsidiaries/associate companies, or cooperating organizations upon request and in consultation with the appropriate people responsible.

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Master or Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or similar. Broad knowledge and well-founded technical understanding in the relevant topics in theory and practice.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in thermal management system development.
  • Rich experience in independently developing heat pump system and TMS strategic development would be preferred.
  • Proficient in refrigeration principles and thermodynamics.
  • Deep understanding of thermal management system developing processes.
  • Capable of establishing thermal management attribute development/evaluation processes and standards.
  • Capable of independent modeling using 1D system simulation tools like GT-suit/Amesim.
  • Proficient in the thermal performance requirements of the powertrain (Cabin,battery, E-motor, E-range,etc.)
  • Fluently in Chinese & English.
  • Fluently in German will be preferred.
