Brief description of the position:
This position is accountable for all aspects related to the 1D cooling system simulation in the VCTC Organization and reports to the YHF (Thermal Management & Cooling). Specifically, the role includes BEV and Hybrid cooling system 1D simulation and the coupling with other systems Co-Simulation.
Key Tasks:
- Undertake the vehicle performance targets based on product definition and project feature catalog - Decompose and define the functional and performance objectives for the cooling system
- Responsible for designing the cooling system topology in different modes, developing the cooling performance solutions - Defining cooling system development plan, ensure the achievement of engineering objectives via 1D simulation
- Definition of the dimension of cooling system based on requirements of powertrain, battery system and charging system, working together with YHF FOPs and neighboring departments (climate, battery, etc) - Responsible for matching and selecting components for the cooling system via 1D simulation coupled with 3D simulation
- Build up and perform BEV and Hybrid cooling system 1D simulation (coupled with AC and battery) at different driving & climate conditions - Key components performance simulation via 1D simulation for design optimization. - Support co-simulation models including AC, vehicle, control strategy, perform TMS Energy consumption and Efficiency simulation activities
- Generate report and decision recommendations on cooling performance via 1D simulation; Ensure fulfill vehicle requirement. - Simulation report supporting the development of vehicle thermal management strategy.
- Support to plan the cooling system test bench and vehicle test - Support to set up test bench equipment parameter, run measurements - Analyze the test data, generate report and interpretation ensure to fulfill vehicle requirement
- Issue analysis support: component testing, bench testing, vehicle road and durability testing regarding all the YHF components - Support YHF in technical issues for acquisition of equipment, creation of specification books (LAH) for the activities above - Responsible for developing relevant process specifications and writing technical documents
- Cooperation with internal and external partners for the activities above
Qualification and skills required for the position:
- Deep understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer mechanisms and physics
- Deep understanding of simulation tools and principles;
- Familiar with software like Amesim, GT-Suite, Simulink, CATIA etc.;
- Familiar with Co-Simulation and coupling of different software Tools
- Familiar with xEV cooling system theory and key components;
- Fluent English communication skills and German communication skills is a plus;
- Familiar with agile working methods and Jira-System is a plus;
- Good communication skills and team spirit.
