Brief description of the position:

VCU SW calibration engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and performance of automotive control systems. They often work in teams, collaborating with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality calibration solutions. Position consists of flexible tasks due to quick development time in an agile systems engineering environment.

 Key Tasks:

Develop and Implement Calibration Procedures:
Create and refine calibration procedures for various measurement and testing equipment. Identify and rectify any issues related to equipment calibration and performance. Use precision measurement devices to calibrate, inspect, and test equipment, ensuring it meets specifications.

Collaborate with Teams:
Work closely with other engineers and technicians to implement correct calibration methods. Coordinate efforts to maintain quality standards and adhere to regulations. Train and assist other technicians in calibration techniques.

Calibration and Optimization:
Define, validate, calibrate, and optimize the EREV-/PHEV-/BEV-VCU and ensure robustness and diagnostic functionality
Analyze large data sets from simulation, dynamometer, and in-vehicle testing

Maintain Records and Certifications:
Keep detailed calibration records for audit purposes. 
Recommend and implement improvements to calibration procedures and methods.

Calibration Tools and Techniques:
Utilize tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, ETAS INCA, ETAS Measure Data Analyzer (MDA), and Vehicle Spy.
Tune system responses through calibration and identify areas for control changes.

Field Testing and Validation:
Validate drivability matrices and support testing in various conditions (high altitude, hot/cold weather)

Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing:
Calibrate, test, and verify using dSPACE HIL and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL)
Collaborate with algorithm and hardware engineers to decode complex control algorithms.

Assessment of the calibration maturity level in relation to the given project schedule
Create technical documentation for reference and reporting

General project management tasks regarding given role descriptions ,
Procurement of the information and literature required for the field of work, gathering of work specific requirements (market, costs, strategy, regulatory, technical, customer, quality … ) to support the ongoing work and to stimulate further developments, as well as patent protection of the work results

Routine Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems to prevent malfunctions.
Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
