Brief description of the position:

  • The position is responsible for developing either supplier for cold forms press shop for especially skin panel parts,  or the in-house production in press shop and processes depending on the make-or buy decision according to the  company strategy. Ensuring target achievement of press lines and further equipment, establish processes in terms of quality, costs and project capacities. The equipment planner is responsible for press-lines, interfacing between  equipment supplier, body shop, logistic purchasing, quality, IT and Production department to ensure that the press shop achieve the capacity according to the agreed volumes. Check and/or creation of alternative concepts within the planning projects. Coordination of planning premises taking into account the corporate strategy as well as designing economical and process-reliable manufacturing concepts through active product influence.  Implementation of innovations and improvements in the area of responsibility. Implementation of new cost-optimized manufacturing concepts to ensure the multi-brand approach. Create a pleasant work-life-balance.



Key Tasks:

  • Planning of production concepts and/or structures in existing and new car plants of Volkswagen Anhui.
  • Coordination of planning premises taking into account the corporate strategy.
  • Planning, identification and assessment of required production resources (e.g. investment, time plan production area, manpower) as well as their sustainable reduction.
  • Implementing new effort-optimised production concepts to ensure the multi-brand approach.
  • Controlling of operational resources at equipment suppliers to ensure the quality, cost and on-time production.
  • Evaluating and implementing engineering changes on schedule.
  • Implementation of supplier reviews and preparation of supplier evaluations.
  • Coordinate internal and external customers, suppliers and service providers during plant construction and ramp-up of new car projects in compliance with the product development process.
  • Standardization of implementation activities and work processes.
  • Support integration of press shop equipment upgrading/relocation in existing press shop and ramp-up in compliance with the new car project.

 



Qualification and skills:

  • Degree in technical engineering in one of the following subjects: Mechanics, Electrics, Vehicle development, Material Forming and Control Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree with more than 5years working experience or master's degree with at least 2 years working experience.
  • Expertise in press shop production area, with a focus on press shop planning.
  • Working with suppliers (press line and other equipment)
  • Project management
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of press shop equipment (i.e. Press lines, Tryout press, CMM, GOM, Crane, Forklifts and AGV, etc.)
  • Business management skills
  • Communication fluently in English and Chinese, German language is a plus.
  • Knowledge about Volkswagen standards, processes and systems, i.e. VW group Press shop white book, PEP, BDE, Thingworx and SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge about press shop capacity planning, technical specifications generation, high speed press  line planning. experience of automatic boxing system and finished parts high bay system planning is a plus.
  • High degree of responsibility and professionalism with self -organizing skills.
  • Communication skills and the ability to work with MS office software to create consistent presentations.
  • Experience in a cross-cultural work environment is a plus.
