IT/Software Planner

Brief description of the position:

This position define which software applications or systems are needed for smooth business operations and condition monitoring of daily maintenance status of equipment, as well as the associated network and hardware, interfacing between Planning, Logistic, Purchasing, Quality, IT, External service providers (ie. coil blanking, raw material supplier),Production department on Press shop IT landscape related topics. 

This position focus on IT software and hardware development coordination, working with IT department for applications as well as systems planning, sourcing, integration and maintenance. 

This position has the goal of synchronizing, elaborating and further developing the specific technical requirements from process design and the resulting IT solution finding in order to ensure the future viability of the IT landscape in the press plants. 

Coordination of planning premises taking into account the corporate strategy. 

Representation of planning projects in internal committees. 

Implementation of innovations and improvements in the area of responsibility. 

Implementation of new cost-optimized manufacturing concepts to ensure the multi-brand approach.

Key Tasks:

• Planning of production concepts and/or structures in existing and new car plants of Volkswagen Anhui
• Coordination of planning premises taking into account the corporate strategy.
• Evaluating and presentation the individual KPIs (Shop floor networking, OEE, Media consumption, Production control) in committees and pointing out solution strategies in case of target deviations.
• Planning, identification and assessment of required production resources (e.g. investment, time plan production area, manpower) as well as their sustainable reduction.
• Technical competence in digital production platform (DPP) , Profibus-DP/NP, Profinet, Ethercat, and safety concepts, innovation and also IT Hard- and software. Programming languages C++, python, etc.
• Confident utilization of department specific IT-Systems or protocol (BDE, Thingworx, Web EDI, KVS, Connect, SAP, Hana, SCADA, MES and VMware, WMS, TCP/IP, PLC, etc.)
• Coordinate all basic IT infrastructure service to fulfill the requirement from IT projects such as capacity planning, hardware estimation, implementation with IT department together.
• Identify and prioritize opportunities from application aspect. Drive maximum value out of IT environment and opportunities.
• Generate requirement specifications, call for proposals and perform technical negotiations with suppliers.
• Coordinate internal and external customers, suppliers and service providers during plant construction and ramp-up of new car projects in compliance with the product development process.

Qualification and skills:

• Major in technical engineering in one of the following subjects: Mechanics, Electrics, Vehicle development, Computer science.
• Bachelor's degree with more than 5years working experience or master's degree with at least 2 years working experience.
• Related experience in IT industry, focus on IT operation area, Project management.
• Knowledge of computer networking, installation, and administration (security, storage, backup, logging, audit and etc.).
• Business management skills
• Communication fluently in English and Chinese, German language is a plus.
• Knowledge about Volkswagen standards, processes and systems (SAP, Web EDI, PEP, MES,KVS/BDE/HANA/Thingworx /Connect is a plus).
• Knowledge about press shop manufacturing process and finished part storage management, knowledge of raw material ordering is a plus.
• High degree of responsibility and professionalism with self-organizing skills.
• Communication skills and the ability to work with MS-office to create consistent presentations to make product version comparisons.
• Experience in a cross-cultural work environment is a plus.
