Key tasks:

• Building, maintaining & developing supplier portfolio for prototype production equipment, aligned with Purchasing, Industrialization, Technology.
• Identifying & evaluating new equipment suppliers supporting PowerCo’s cell tech roadmap; performing structured market & tech screenings.
• Defining scope, aligning specs, preparing RFQ packages, coordinating cross-functional evaluations & supporting commercial negotiations with Procurement.
• Translating process requirements into tech specs; ensuring supplier alignment on interfaces, safety, utilities, software & documentation.
• Conducting capability audits, evaluating quality systems, process maturity & EHS compliance; defining & tracking improvement actions.
• Monitoring supplier progress from design to FAT, shipment, SAT & handover; managing risks, changes & escalations to ensure timeline adherence.
• Establishing KPIs, managing deviations & continuous improvement with process & product dev teams.
• Supporting installation, commissioning, SAT & operator training on pilot/prototype lines; ensuring documentation, maintenance plans & spare parts lists completeness.
• Identifying synergy & standardization potentials across sites; contributing to cost-down, lead time reduction & TCO improvement initiatives.
• Conducting project reporting & ensuring timely issue escalation.

Qualification and skills required for the position:

• MS degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Elecrtrochemistry or evidence of experience and exceptional ability,  Ph.D is a plus. 
• 3+ years of experience in industry in field of battery industry
• Knowledge in battery cell related development and production processes►

• Strong negotiation skill to achieve WIN-WIN solutions with many stakeholders
• Coordination skills and assertion skills
• Able to communicate effective on different levels – from shop floor to top
• Self-motivated with the willingness to learn
• Business fluent in English; Chinese is a plus
• Priority will be given to VW Group internal candidates based on relevant prior work experience
