Key tasks:

• Developing and coordinating design concepts for battery cell and its components, including all necessary requirements.
• Deriving requirements for cell (sub)components and designing (sub)components in accordance with cell specifications.
• Verifying technical and manufacturing feasibility with consultants and suppliers, ensuring compliance.
• Aligning designs with stakeholders including customers, production, procurement, and quality. 
• Creating 3D models, drawings, and related technical documentation.
• Developing and assessing mechanical simulations, properties, and tolerance chains.
• Compiling parts lists for prototype and series production cells.
• Preparing approvable CAD data and drawings for project milestones.
• Assuming component and releasing responsibility in accordance with development guidelines and milestones.
• Conducting literature and patent research; attend conferences and supervise student theses.

Qualification and skills required for the position:

• MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability,  Ph.D is a plus. 
• 3+ years of experience in industry in field of battery industry
• Knowledge in battery cell related development and production processes
• Open and willingness to take high pressure
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation skill to achieve WIN-WIN solutions with many stakeholders
• Coordination skills and assertion skills
• Able to communicate effective on different levels – from shop floor to top
• Self-motivated with the willingness to learn
• Business fluent in English; Chinese is a plus
