Key tasks:

• Assuming component and approval responsibility in accordance with the development framework conditions and milestones (part & level releases, BMG)
• Conducting TE ratings within the forward sourcing process of the components and related activities (e.g. POT, QTR)
• Conducting technical supplier meetings
• Creating and tracking component development, deliverying schedules and parts supply with the supplier.
• Performing mechanical, physical and mechanical characterization of components.
• Tracking timelines and costs, aligning technical solutions.
• Documenting and presenting project results; updating project schedules.
• Initiating and carrying out change management including deviation and changing requests, communicate with all relevant stakeholders.
• Reporting progress and escalating critical issues promptly.
• Conducting literature, patent, and market research on cell components.

Qualification and skills required for the position:

• MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability,  Ph.D is a plus. 
• 3+ years of experience in industry in field of battery industry
• Knowledge in battery cell related development and production processes►
• Open and willingness to take high pressure
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation skill to achieve WIN-WIN solutions with many stakeholders
• Coordination skills and assertion skills
• Able to communicate effective on different levels – from shop floor to top
• Self-motivated with the willingness to learn
• Business fluent in English; Chinese is a plus
• Priority will be given to VW Group internal candidates based on relevant prior work experience
