Key tasks:

• Planning, conducting, analyzing, evaluating, and documenting electrical, safety, and environmental tests on battery cells of various sizes and designs, including subcomponents and materials.
• Managing test and error processes for multiple cell projects, including reporting and escalation.
• Planning internal and external resources, including managing the commissioning process.
• Developing, optimizing, validating and standardizing measurement protocols.
• Determining cell demands and ensuring availability of DUTs (incl. pad and cell fixture/test setup) and testing resources in time according to project milestones.
• Documenting, discussing and presenting project results.
• Assessing requirements and preparing release recommendations.
• Creating and updating schedules, roadmaps, and presentations.
• Aligning interfaces and workflows for measurement processes within and across development project.
• Conducting literature, patenting research, visiting testing institutes and development partners.

Qualification and skills required for the position:

• MS degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrochemistry or evidence of experience and exceptional ability,  Ph.D is a plus. 
• 3+ years of experience in industry in field of battery industry
• Knowledge in battery cell related development and production processes
• Open and willingness to take high pressure
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation skill to achieve WIN-WIN solutions with many stakeholders
• Coordination skills and assertion skills
• Able to communicate effective on different levels – from shop floor to top
• Self-motivated with the willingness to learn
• Business fluent in English; Chinese is a plus
• Priority will be given to VW Group internal candidates based on relevant prior work experience
