TQL | Failure Analysis Lab Engineer

Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (“VWATJ”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, is the largest green-field transmission producer of the VW Group in China. Across two plants, we produce premium quality Double-clutch Gearbox (DSG) transmissions, hybrid transmissions and e-drives.

Job Title: TQL | Failure Analysis Lab Engineer

Division/Department: Quality Assurance Department

Location: Tianjin

Your Responsibilities: 
1. Failure analysis in material area including electronic components within quality assurance lab for all transmissions/E-Drive projects in VWATJ
2. Analyze, evaluate and develop material properties for all transmissions/E-Drive projects     

3. Provide technical support for supplier and other departments within VWATJ and VW Group to optimize the production process.

Detial responsiblity of position:

•     Develop professional knowledge continuous independently
•     Optimize, develop and verify test procedures independently     
•     Analyze and evaluate risk for production assembly, supplier and field failure complain or material investigation independently
•     Organize technical training or seminar internal or to supplier independently
•     Work corrective/ removal measures independently
•     Prepare and present documents for presentations, represent work results to suppliers and customers and facilitate advice for suppliers and production process independently
•     Facilitate and execute measuring equipment calibration, routine maintenance and proficiency testing independently
•     Execute suppliers LCC(lab cross check) independently

Your Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor or comparable, prefer Master or comparable in material including electronic material or related    

  2. Language skills: Chinese, fluent German and/or English
  3. Work independently, good technical understanding of laboratory, teamwork and open mindedly, Good communication skills and problem-solving ability strong analytical thinking, excellent presentation skills
  4. prefer 3 years work experience on the task area of laboratory (prefer) or quality assurance, excellent graduate also acceptable
  5. IT knowledge: Office, Image Access, Matlab, LIMS, Nolis, KVS,  material data base and so on (Not mandatory)
  6. Integrity and value-driven working style, compliant to rules and regulation
  7. Remain accountable when mistake happens and be able to speak up if something goes wrong
