Audi China was founded in 2009 in Beijing as a one-hundred-percent subsidiary of AUDI AG. The company has approximately 600 employees and coordinates the business partnership between AUDI AG, the joint venture FAW Volkswagen and the cooperation SAIC Audi.

Audi China includes eight divisions: Purchasing, R&D, Sales and Marketing, Finance/IT & Compliance, Product, HR & Organization, Production, Chairman of the Board (Corporate Strategy, Government Affairs, Quality and Technical Services, Corporate Communications and Legal Services).

Audi on the Chinese market In 2020, the Four Rings brand increased unit sales in China by 5.4% to 726,288 units. This is a new record for the premium brand with the longest history in the country. Driving growth are the locally produced models with 674,700 units delivered, especially premium models A6 L (+38.8% to 182,032 units) and Q5 L (+7.3% to 149,180 units). The Audi Q3 (+10.7% to 71,817 units) and Q2 L (+34.1% to 52,343 units) also demonstrate strong potential in 2020. Among the imported cars, demand for the A8 L flagship (+13.9% to 14,150 units) and Q8 (5,022 units) in the luxury class had a very positive effect. China’s overall car market is the world’s largest. Deliveries in 2020 totaled around 20 million units.
