MAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

• As Component responsible person, this position ensures end-to-end development and release of display components in cockpit system.
• Develop and implement local displays into local vehicle projects in collaboration with group R&D teams, internal cross-functional teams, external engineering partners and Tier 1/ sub-tier suppliers.
• Ensure market and legal/regulation requirements to be fulfilled for the resp. component.
• Lead the component requirement definition incl. technical specifications, drawing, 3D data set, etc. to ensure Audi China standard implementation and final application.
• Resp. for sample development, change request creation and implementation, validation plan checks and result approval, in order to give component release at each essential milestone along PEP process to ensure SOP on schedule.
• Steer and manage 3rd party engineering support and series suppliers during whole concept and development phase, approve their work results and lead project management with suppliers.
• Track innovation directions on displays incl. technology roadmap, use case and mechanical evolution etc, and understand customer needs for resp. market.
• Strong collaboration with internal stakeholders like Purchasing, quality, logistic etc. during sourcing process incl. RFQ package preparation, technical communication, evaluation and ratings and during industrialization process incl. technical tracking, deviation check and release approval, Maturity level check as BTV.
• Responsible to review suppliers’ test case and test plan to ensure technical requirements from Audi met within timeline and give BMG Approval to Display parts.
• Component level status synchronization and reporting with Project team and system team from Audi AG and Region China.
• Supporting the production and quality department in case of series problems related to the display after product launch, and continuously optimization of display products.

RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS

1. Technical Concept and specification definition
• Solid understanding of Market trends and technology roadmap for cockpit displays
• Timely monitoring and tracking of relevant legal requirement, regulations and technical standards in China market
• Product request evaluation and initiate feasible technical concept
• Regional and global requirement evaluation and solution definition for new projects to ensure Audi China standard implementation
• Work out display technical specifications including but not limited to Part technical requirement for sourcing, drawing, spec sheets, etc together with internal/external team with consideration of all technical requirements and production/quality requirements from other stakeholders
2. Project Management
• Lead scheduling for part development timeline incl. backwards calculation from SOP, sample milestones, validation time
• Lead technical reviews with potential suppliers and deliver evaluation results.
• Work together with cross-functional team within R&D and with Quality, purchasing, logistic, etc. during sourcing and Industrialization phase
• Supplier management including external engineering support and series supplier to ensure the project milestone reached
• Part status reporting and sync with project team/ SE Team and documentation into complete BoM
• Participate at Q Gate and review component integration status
• Start-up support for project SOP at plant
3. Development steering, planning and final release
• Follow Audi development process to plan the operative development steps and coordinate corresponding resources to ensure final approval of the part and integration into whole vehicle
• Resp. for the final delivered parts matching all defined Audi requirements via development with China speed
• Lead and steer the drawing review, construction data review, sample evaluation, testing plan, testing result evaluation and final release of the parts together with internal and external engineers.
• Track the development status incl. design, validation, production feasibility, hardware review, EMC, robust design, networking etc. with relevant team or external engineering team or group R&D team and consolidate the overall part development status
• Request and responsible for essential release within the part development process according to VW Group release management process at group/local systems
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams during industrialization phase and act as R&D representative during maturity level check at supplier.
4. Problem solving and change management
• Monitor and track testing status and results and responsible for root cause analysis and solution definition with development team and series supplier
• Preparation of change notification (ÄKO, ÄA) when necessary modification needed in terms of technical optimization or cost optimization
• Initiate the cost allocation changes discussion with purchasing and suppliers
• Report the change notification to project team and synchronize the change request status
• Responsible for tracking implementation status with suppliers and check the delivered results fulfilling Audi requirement

1. Stakeholder communication
• Responsible for regular information synchronization between AUDI AG, Audi China, Region China R&D, Project team and suppliers by means of reports and participating regular meetings on demands
• Synchronize with internal R&D stakeholders on testing plan, test execution result, release plan, release status, critical issues, etc.
• Synchronize with internal cross-functional teams incl. quality, purchasing, logistic, etc. for part status into project milestones

Working experience (in years):

• 8+ years at Automotive industry OEMs or Suppliers
• 5+ years for Display products

Remarks (Language, IT-Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

• Excellent Chinese and English skills (written and spoken)
• German language skills are beneficial
